Damascus, SANA- The Cabinet on Tuesday discussed the vision of the Ministry of Information to implement the directive speech of President Bashar al-Assad regarding the necessity of developing a national media policy and the role required for the State information, in addition to the role of media offices in public agencies and facilitating access to information.
The Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister, Mohammad Ghazi al-Jalali, said in a weekly session that media discourse should be objective, realistic and responsible to ensure that appropriate information is delivered to public opinion with all boldness,
The discussions also addressed the need to qualify and develop human resources in the press sector to ensure the establishment of a media sector based on science, feasibility, modernity, and responsibility at the same time.
Al-Jalali called on Ministry of Information to study a plan to reconstruct media institutions and address the accumulated problems, especially those related to human resources.
