Health Minister meets WHO Regional Director, a number of Health Ministers in Jordan

Amman, SANA- Syria and WHO discussed means to develop health cooperation and improve health services provided in Syria.

That came during a meeting, held in Amman on the sidelines of 1st Arab conference on Arab immigrant health professionals’ role in supporting health systems in Arab countries, between Health Minister, Dr. Ahmed Damirieh and Regional Director of World Health Organization(WHO) Dr. Hanan Al-Balkhi.

The two sides discussed the topic of opening a health emergency management center, which is being studied in terms of the mechanism for training its cadres.

Al-Balkhi hailed the efforts exerted for the arrivals from Lebanon as well providing the necessary support to the Syrian side in this regard, in addition to supporting the pharmaceutical industries in Syria.

In a related context, Minister Damirieh discussed with his Jordanian, Sudanese and Algerian counterparts the current health reality and the means of boosting bilateral health cooperation.
