Mauritania, Tajikistan condemn Israeli aggression on Iranian consulate in Damascus

Nouakchott, Dushanbe, SANA- The Islamic Republic of Mauritania has condemned the Israeli terrorist attack that targeted the Iranian consulate in Damascus.

In a statement published by the Mauritanian News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad considered this attack a blatant violation of the sovereignty of the Syrian Republic, and a great disregard for international agreements and conventions that protect the sanctity of diplomatic and consular headquarters.

 “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad received with strong condemnation the targeting of the Iranian consulate in Damascus by Israeli aircraft, in a blatant violation of the sovereignty of the Syrian Republic, and in great disregard for international agreements and conventions that protect the sanctity of diplomatic and consular headquarters,” the statement read.

The statement added: “The Ministry denounces this shameful targeting and reaffirms the necessity of respecting diplomatic and consular headquarters and the sovereignty of states, in accordance with the international law.”

Tajikistan also condemned the Israeli terrorist aggression that targeted the Iranian consulate in Damascus last Monday, stressing that it violates international laws.

The Tajik Foreign Ministry affirmed in a statement that: “Such actions constitute a violation of international laws, especially the Vienna Conventions… We consider them completely unacceptable.”
