Cairo, SANA-Egypt’s Armed Forces announced on Monday that nine military personnel, including officers and other ranks, were either killed or injured after a transport truck carrying ammunition overturned in Sharqiya Governorate, Al-Ahram said in a report.
According to the Egyptian army’s statement on the accident, the incident occurred when a transport truck carrying ammunition unexpectedly overturned during a planned training exercise in the Roubiki area, located south of Tenth of Ramadan City in Sharqiya Governorate.
The statement added that all necessary measures were promptly taken in close coordination with the relevant authorities.
“The Armed Forces extend their heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims and wish a swift and full recovery to those injured in the incident,” the statement said.
