Int’l conference on combating Sand and dust Storms kicks off in Tehran

Tehran,SANA- The International Conference on Combating Sand and Dust Storms (SDSs) kicked off in Tehran on Saturday with participation of Syrian delegation, representatives of 50 states,15 world institutions and 250 experts ,professors and representatives of executive, research and educational institutions.

Development without paying attention to the environment and pollutants is one of the reasons for the increase in dust, the Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said during the conference.

Raisi pointed out that drought, lack of rainfall, and improper use of water resources are important reasons for the increase in the phenomenon of dust and its spread, stressing the need to participation among countries to solve this problem.

There should be a guarantee of implementation of UN resolutions on the environment, otherwise those who have power will endanger the environment, the Iranian president said.
