Armenia opens a hall under the name of Syria at Yerevan State University

Yerevan, SANA- Yerevan State University in Armenia opened a hall under the name of Syrian Arab Republic, in the Faculty of Oriental Studies – Department of Arab Studies.

The hall is the product of cooperation between the Syrian embassy and the university, and will be a platform for educational, cultural, scientific and intellectual exchange between Syria and Armenia, Syria’s ambassador to Armenia , Dr. Nora Arissian , said during the opening ceremony.

In their turn, rector of University, Dr. Hovhannes Hovannisian, Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Dr. Ruben Melkonian, and Head of the Department of Arab Studies, Dr. Haik Kocharian, stressed the deeply rooted relation between both countries, and the hall will contribute to strengthening educational and scientific relations, especially teaching Arabic language.
