Mikdad expresses Syria’s support for DPRK against US schemes

Damascus, SANA-Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Fayssal Mikdad discussed with Sin Hong Chol, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) bilateral relations between the two countries and means of improving them in all spheres.

Mikdad said that the visit of the Korean official is an expression of DPRK support for Syria under the tough circumstances it is passing through and the terrorist war waged against it.

Voicing support for DPRK against US schemes, Mikdad affirmed its right to defend itself and protect its national achievements, sovereignty and independence.

Mikdad considered that any solution to the crisis in Syria must build on the principles of fighting terrorism, Syria’s unity and territorial integrity and non-interference in its internal affairs.

The solution must be Syrian and led by Syria, he added.

Mikdad said that Syria’s neighboring countries’ implementation of the UN resolutions, if it happens, would spell the end of terrorism afflicting the Syrian people in a short time.

For his part, Sin Hong Chol made a review of the latest developments in his country and the efforts of the DPRK people, led by Kim Jong-un, to build a prosperous state and reunite the Korean Peninsula.

He conveyed his country’s support for Syria’s struggle to fight terrorism and restore security and stability, expressing trust in the Syrian people’s victory over the fierce terrorist campaign targeting it.
