اDamascus, SANA- Interior Ministry launched a new service for electronic issuance and renewal of passports via the citizen e-Gate Service (https://ecsc.gov.sy).
This service was launched, in cooperation with Ministry of Communications and Technology.
The service enables the citizens to download the official documents required for the issuance of passport, the payment of the fee electronically and the date of the issuance of the passport.
In a statement on Monday, the Ministry pointed out that it started the service on the 7th of current month, asserting that the first phase targets those who have installed a passport prior reservation and have been given a role on the platform after the 21st of the current month.
The statement pointed out that the method of installing a passport prior reservation through the citizen e-gate service center includes creating an account on the gate https://ecsc.gov.sy and entering the ID data accurately, then choosing to install a prior reservation of the passport.
The statement said that reservation dates will be canceled if the documents are not uploaded and the fees are not paid within ten days.
The statement pointed out that in the second stage registration for first-time applicants will start later.
Minister of Communications and Technology Iyad al-Khatib toured the Syrian Telecom Company to get acquainted with the workflow of the new service.
Director of the Directorate of Citizen Service Technology at the Ministry, Eng. Samer Yamani, noted that since the beginning of application of the service of obtaining a passport, the number of accounts created on the platform reached 7000.
