A 3.6 magnitude earthquake hits eastern Mediterranean, near Greece

Capitals, SANA- An earthquake of 3.6 on Richter scale occurred on Tuesday east of the Mediterranean, nearby Greece, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre.

“No reports of human or material losses till now”, the Center said in a tweet.

Another earthquake measuring 6.1 on Richter scale hit east of the Mediterranean at a depth of 58.5 km from the surface of the earth, and at a distance of 127 km southeast of Karpathos island, without any losses, the National Observatory of Athens, Institute of Geodynamics said.

In Egypt, the Egyptian National Seismic Network recorded a 6 magnitude earthquake in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Meanwhile, the National Center for Geophysics affiliated with the National Council for Scientific Research in Lebanon stated that an earthquake measuring 4.6 on Richter scale occurred in the sea between the islands of Cyprus and Crete.

The Centre stressed that there is no danger of a Tsunami due to this earthquake.
