People’s Assembly Speaker announces receiving six notices on new applications to run for President

Damascus, SANA-Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hammoudeh Sabbagh announced that the People’s Assembly received on Thursday six notices from the Supreme Constitutional Court that Ahmad Yousef Abdul-Ghani, Nahed Mohammad Anwar al-Ayyoun al-Dabbagh, Mohammad Saleh Asaad al-Haj Abdullah, Abdul-Hannan Khalaf al-Badawi and Mahmoud Ahmad Mar’ai,  Khaled Abdou al- kreidi , submitted applications to run for President as the number of the submitted applications has risen to twelve till now.

On Wednesday, the People’s Assembly received three notices from the Supreme Constitutional Court that Mohanad Nadim Shaaban, Mohammad Muwaffaq Sawwan and Bashar Hafez al-Assad submitted applications to run for President, after it had earlier received notices that Abdullah Salloum Abdullah, Mohammad Firas Yasin Rajjouh and Faten Ali Nahar submitted applications to run for the presidential elections which will be held on May 20th for the Syrians abroad and on May 26th for the Syrians on Syrian territory.

On April 18th, Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hammoudeh Sabbagh announced the commencement of candidacy for Presidential elections as of Monday April 19th till April 28th.
