Christmas prayers in Damascus

Damascus, SANA, Christmas celebrations in Syria have been limited to prayers and masses only due to the events taking place in the country and in respect of the souls of the martyrs who scarified their lives to defend the dignity of Syria.

At St George Syriac Orthodox Church in Bab Touma neighborhood in Damascus, a holy mass was held led by Archbishop Jean Qwaq.

During the sermon, Qwaq talked about the sublime meaning of the birth of Christ, as he also called upon all the Syrians to be united.

The Archbishop appealed to all those who have good intentions to help halting violence, pointing out that dialogue is the only solution to the crisis.

The National Angelic Church in Damascus also held a religious mass chaired by Priest Peter Zaour.

Priest Zaour talked about the symbols of Nativity, as Jesus Christ was born to celebrate humanity and regain dignity to women and defend children’s rights.

Zaour

Zaour called upon the Syrian people to be resilient in facing the conspiracy, stressing that no matter how much the enemies tried to pump terrorism to Syria they will not reach their objectives.

The Priest prayed for God that peace would prevail Syria, hoping victory to the Syrian Arab Army in its war against terrorism.
