Lavrov: US practices in Syria violate resolution 2254

Moscow, SANA- Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, affirmed that the US practices in Syria, its occupation of territories, plundering the Syrian resources and supporting the separatist militias violate resolution 2254 which stipulates for commitment to Syria’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.

“ We have repeatedly expressed our evaluations and formal stances in regards to the developments of the situation in Syria,” Lavrov said during an annual press conference in Moscow on Monday in response to a question raised by SANA’s correspondent.

He added that all counties have signed Security Council Resolution 2254 which stipulates for the necessity of respecting Syrian sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.

Lavrov affirmed  that the US has occupied lands in al-Jazeera region, bringing out natural resources from it, looting and stealing them as well as it supports separatist militias there in a flagrant violation of resolution 2254.

The Russian diplomat noted that the US is doing everything to prevent humanitarian aid from reaching to Syria in addition to its policy  aimed at blackmail  as it announced the so-called “Caesar Act” and prevented international organizations from participating in the international conference on the return of refugees which was held in Damascus last November.
