Capitals, SANA-The novel coronavirus has claimed the lives of 1,096,998 people around the world since its appearance in December last year, according to a new statistic published by the American Worldometers website.
According to the website, the total number of coronavirus infections around the world was 38,755,295, and the number of people recovering was 29,130,507.
In the United States, Johns Hopkins University announced that coronavirus infections have reached up to 7,916,100 while the death toll has amounted to 216,872, after recording 59,494 infections and 985 new deaths.
In turn, the Czech Ministry of Health announced the registration of 9,544 new infections, the highest daily toll since the start of the pandemic last March, bringing the total number of infections to 139,290 in this country whose population is estimated at 10.7 million people and which is facing one of the largest rates of infections in the world.
