Shoigu: New counter-drone systems could be sent to Syria

Moscow, SANA – Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced that new Russia’s Sapsan-Convoy, a multifunctional complex designed to resist drones, could be sent to Syria and this will depend on how successfully the complex will be tested in maneuvers of Caucasus 2020.

Shoigu ‘s remarks came during inspecting Russia’s Pavilion at the Army-2020 International Military and Technical Forum near Moscow on Friday.

Shoigu said that there is a need to develop such tools, if the complex is ready for testing, we will test it at Caucasus-2020 – strategic command-staff exercise. If it proves positive, we will send it to Syria.
