Syrian Airlines to run flight on Monday to evacuate Syrian citizens from UAE

Damascus, SANA – The Transport Ministry said it will begin sending flights on Monday to evacuate Syrian citizens who wish to return from a number of countries.

In a statement, the Ministry said that these flights will be carried out according to lists prepared by the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry, embassies, and diplomatic missions, and will take place throughout several days according to stringent health precautions under the supervision of the Health Ministry.

The first trip on Monday by the Syrian Airlines will evacuate Syrians wishing to return from the UAE on board of an Airbus 340, which will transport 250 passengers from Sharjah Airport, taking off at 7:00 PM Sharjah time and arriving at Damascus International Airport at 9:30 PM Damascus time.

The Ministry called on the Syrian citizens who will return via this flight to be at the airport 7 hours before the flight takes off in order to conduct the necessary health checkups, and that the flight will only provide bottled water without any food or contact with the flight crew during the trip, stressing that they must have face masks and gloves and adhere to the health regulations that will be announced at the airport and on board the plane.
