Montevideo, SANA – Uruguay on Friday strongly condemned the crimes of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist organization in both countries, referring particularly to the recent beheading of Syrian abductees and an American national held by ISIS.
In a statement, Uruguay Foreign Ministry called on the UN to take action towards halting the brutal crimes ISIS is perpetrating which have caused suffering to thousands.
The statement affirmed that the terrorism strategy followed by ISIS aims at intimidating the civilians in Syria and Iraq and attacking whoever disagrees with it without any respect to the basic rights of the residents or the international laws.
Uruguay warned in the statement of the bad repercussions of ISIS terrorist acts on the stability of the entire Middle East, stressing that the terrorist organization poses a threat to the international community, democracy and human rights.
