1000 medical cards distributed to martyrs’families in Lattakia within Shifa project

Lattakia, SANA Within the fourth campaign of Shifa (Cure) project, more than 1000 medical cards were distributed on Tuesday to families of martyrs from Lattakia province which allow them to access health and medical services free of charge.

‘Shifa’ is a volunteer medical project that has been launched by Syria Youth Imprint Foundation, a non-governmental civil association, and the Syrian Doctors Syndicate targeting families of martyrs all over Syria.

Director of the project Bahjat Akroush told SANA reporter that it has so far attracted 1200 volunteer physicians in various specialties who provide diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical services at their clinics for free.

He noted that the newly-distributed medical cards covered 240 families, assuring that there is a coordinator affiliated to the project positioned at each health center or hospital who is charged with making sure that the recipients get full access to services.

Rami Mansoura, Director of the Board of Syria Youth Imprint Foundation, which has performed a remarkable humanitarian and relief role since the outset of the crisis in the country in 2011, pointed out that the beneficiaries include the mother, father, wife and children of the martyr.

Leaflets were also distributed along with the cards which included names, addresses and contact information of the physicians inside and outside Lattakia.

The distribution was carried out within an event held at Dar al-Assad for Culture and Arts.
