Moscow, SANA – Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Monday reiterated Russia’s position which stresses that all foreign military forces that are present in Syria illegally must leave.
In statements to journalists, Peskov said the Turkish side must be made to commit to the political solution for the crisis in Syria, and it must avoid any actions that would hinder such a solution.
He also denied that Russian President Vladimir Putin might have discussed with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in a phone call any new Turkish military plans in Syria.
Peskov said Russia hopes that Turkey would always remain committed to Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing the need to combat terrorist elements.
