Damascus, SANA – opened on Saturday an academy for coaching and teaching juniors the fundamentals and basic skills and techniques of playing football.
“The aim of setting up this academy is to build a new generation of trained talented footballers,” said the Head of the Sports Club in Jaramana, a city in Damascus Countryside that has been ravaged by terrorist mortar attacks.
He hoped that well-trained football players will add much to the Club in particular and consequently to the national teams in general.
The academy, he noted, will pay great attention to following up on not just the sport performance of the trainees but also their education and intellectual skills through a set of constructive social programs.
