Syria’s participation in St. Petersburg Forum an opportunity for enhancing cooperation with different states

Moscow, SANA- Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Mohammad Samer al-Khalil affirmed that St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) held in Russia will be a significant opportunity for meeting officials and businessmen from more than 140 states to discuss various significant spheres of enhancing joint cooperation with these states.

In a statement on sidelines of his participation in the Forum, Minister al-Khalil said  “Syria as usual participates in activities of the 23rd session of the Forum through a governmental delegation, in addition to a delegation of businessmen.”

He indicated that over the past years, the Forum has been one of the most important platforms of economic dialogue on the global level to discuss the most important issues facing the international economy on the trade and investment levels.

The Forum started activities on Thursday in the Russian City of St. Petersburg in presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping and the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, in addition to a number of presidents, prime ministers, ministers, ambassadors and a large number of representatives of Russian and foreign companies.
