Presidential Affairs Minister congratulates heads of Christian denominations on occasion of Easter

Damascus, SANA – Upon the directives of President Bashar al-Assad, Presidential Affairs Minister Mansour Azzam on Sunday visited heads of Christian denominations that follow the Gregorian calendar, relaying the congratulations of President al-Assad on occasion of Easter.

Azzam offered congratulations to Patriarch Youssef Absi at the Greek Melkite Catholic Patriarchate and offered congratulations to, to Archbishop Elas Tabbi at the Antioch Syriac Catholic Archdiocese, Archbishops Armash Nalbandian and Youssef Arnaouti at the Armenian Orthodox St. Sarkis Church, Pastor Boutros Zaour at the National Evangelical Church, Archbishop Samir Nassar and Father Bahjat Qerqash at the Latin Monastery, and Father Malek Malous at the Chaldean Church.

In turn, the heads of Christian denominations voiced appreciation for this kind gesture, stressing that these difficult times require more unity, solidarity, and self-reliance among Syrians, praying to God to protect Syria and its people and to bless President al-Assad.
