Havana, SANA- Cuban Minister of Tourism Manuel Marrero reaffirmed his country’s standing by Syria, expressing desire to enhance bilateral relations and cooperation in all domains, particularly in the tourism sector.
Marrero’s remarks came during a meeting with Syria’s Ambassador to Cuba Dr. Idris Mayya at the headquarters of the Cuban Tourism Ministry in Havana.
Minister Marrero expressed his country’s appreciation of the steadfastness and the resistance of the Syrian people throughout the years of the hostile war waged against Syria.
He hailed the sacrifices and heroism of the Syrian Arab Army in the face of the terrorist organizations.
Marrero noted that Syria enjoys all capabilities which make it an international tourist destination, affirming readiness of the Cuban side to provide its experience in the tourism sector to the Syrian side.
For his part, Ambassador Mayya made a comprehensive presentation on the latest developments of the situations in Syria, indicating that the Syrian economy has started to recover in all the sectors including the tourism sector.
Mayya referred to the measures taken by the Ministry of Tourism to reactivate the tourist movement in Syria.
He underlined the importance of enhancing relations between the two countries in the tourism sector including the participation in the exhibitions and the tourist activities.
