Tokyo, SANA- Syrian athlete Yazan Suleiman ranked 7th in 2018 World Gymnastics Championship currently held in the Japanese capital of Tokyo.
Suleiman came in the seventh place after gaining 12,35 points in the ground movements as he came before 30 players from different states which excel in this game, the most prominent of which Japan, the US, Russia, Canada, Britain and Germany.
“Suleiman is one of Syria’s distinguished athletes who play this game and he has gained several achievements on the local and international levels,” Head of the Gymnastics Union Fayez al-Khatib told SANA.
He added that Suleiman has been training in Japan from about 8 months after obtaining a training and study scholarship by the Olympic Solidarity Committee and the Japan Gymnastics Federation.
