Damascus, SANA- Minister of Social Affairs Kinda al-Shammat called for finding an effective system to protect women and children as they are a priority during the current stage on the legislative and executive levels.
Al-Shammat, meeting journalists on Wednesday, said that a social unit for protecting the family will be opened after Eid al-Adha Holiday.
She added that the unit aims at re-integrating the most affected parts, like women and children, in the society according to a specific program which is going to rehabilitate them psychologically and socially, in cooperation with international organizations.
“Civil associations will have an important role in the protection file during the next stage, the Minister said.
She pointed out to the important role of media in highlighting the violations committed by the armed terrorist groups against the women and children.
The Minister referred to the collective migration of the citizens of Ein Arab area in Hasaka province due to the acts of the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and Sham (ISIS) terrorist organization, calling on the World Food Program WFP to increase humanitarian aid to the province to meet the citizens’ needs.
