Prime Minister: Improving the situation of labors is priority for government

Damascus, SANA-Prime Minister Imad Khamis affirmed on Sunday that improving the situation of labors upgrading the services provided to them in various fields are of top priorities to the government.

Khamis, speaking at the 8th session of the General Federation of Trade Unions (GFTU), appreciated the efforts and sacrifices of Syrian workers during the years of the terrorist war, saying that they were a true companion and a basic supporter to Syrian Armed Forces, conveying to them President Bashar al-Assad’s greetings on the occasion of the International Labor Day.

He reviewed the government’s plan to improve the level of services provided to citizens, noting that the volume of losses as a result of terrorist attacks on the energy, water and service sectors during the past few months reached at nearly SYP 2000 billion.

Khamis affirmed the importance of continuous cooperation and coordination between the government and the GFTU to enhance positive work, noting that the government is working according to a specific policy to support the industrial enterprises that achieve economic profitability and has allocated SYP 300 billion as to promote the productive process.

He added that improving the living conditions of citizens is the most important challenge facing the government in the aftermath of the terrorist war, noting that the government has worked to employ the available resources and depended on self-reliance to implement priorities.

The Premier went on to say that the government is open to discuss any idea or proposal that may contribute to developing the mechanisms of government work in various fields, considering that the development process is moving in the right direction.
