Russian Defense Ministry: the west built stances on the alleged use of chemical weapons in Khan Sheikhoun on two White Helmets videos

Moscow, SANA- Russian Defense Ministry criticized western political and diplomats’ positions who talked about chemical weapons use in Khan Sheikhoun based on only two videos by the so- called White Helmets.

The Russian Defense Ministry’s spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said in statement published by Russia Today on Tuesday that “It has been exactly two weeks after the incident with the alleged use of chemical weapons in Khan Sheikhoun. However, the only ‘proof’ of the use of chemical weapons remains only two White Helmets videos,”

“The impact zone in Khan Sheikhoun, from where locals had to be evacuated, has not been identified. The town is living its life. Neither locals nor pseudo-rescuers have even asked for medicines, antidotes, decontaminants,” Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said.

He pointed to that the western politicians and diplomats took positions about the incident based on two videos by the so- called White Helmets adding that US, UK and European TV-channels have not shown yet even a single “hero rescuer” or “an affected person” except for the ones in the videos.

The spokesman said that the number of unbiased experts in the western countries, who question how White Helmets could work in an impacted zone for such a long time without gas masks and special protective clothes and remain alive, is growing.

“It is clear that, as in Iraq and Libya, there are simply no plans to carry out a qualified investigation in Khan Shaykhun by the current ‘schemers’ of the chemical attack,” he added.

In this regard, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Rybakova said in a statement that his country is concerned over attempts by some countries to distort facts concerning the alleged incident of chemical weapons’ use in khan Sheikhoun in Idlib countryside or to impose their narrative on the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons
