Brasilia, SANA-, Syriac Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All East, Head of the Syriac Orthodox Church in the World, Mar Ignatius Aphram II on Saturday stressed that Syria is facing a Takfiri terrorist war, indicating that the situation in the country is different from what is circulated by the Western mass media of falsification and misleading.
Patriarch Aphram, meeting Brazilian President Michel Temer, called for adopting a clear and unified stance against the terrorism, calling upon the Brazilian Government to take stances in support of Syria and to encourage its companies and institutions to participate in the reconstruction process in the country.
During a banquet held in honor of Patriarch Aphram and the accompanying delegation, the Brazilian Deputy Foreign Minister reiterated in a speech that the solution to the crisis in Syria should be political through dialogue among the Syrians and without any foreign interference.
For his part, the Patriarch affirmed that what is taking place in Syria is Takfiri terrorism, indicating that the Syrian civilization is deeply rooted and it is a sample to follow in coexistence, adding that the Syrians are able to solve their problems by themselves without any foreign interference.
He referred to the situations in Syria before the crisis and how the Syrians have lived in peace, coexistence and progress, calling upon the Brazilian Government to raise the level of the diplomatic representation with Syria to upgrade the relations between the two countries.
