Culture Minister, South Africa’s Ambassador discuss developing relations between the two countries

Damascus, SANA-Culture Minister Mohamed al-Ahmad discussed on Wednesday with Ambassador of South Africa in Damascus, Shaun Byneveldt means to develop the cultural relations between Syria and South Africa and the possibility of signing a cultural cooperation agreement.

In a press statement to reporters, al-Ahmad said that South Africa is one of Syria’s friendly countries and it has in important cultural, political and social role.

In turn, Byneveldt pointed out in a similar statement to the need to deepen the relations on the cultural level between the two countries, adding that Syria’s Culture Ministry has offered a number of suggestions that are currently being discussed with the bodies concerned in South Africa to strength relations between Syria and South Africa.
