Russian Defense Ministry denies allegations about shooting down a Russian fighter jet in Raqqa

Moscow, SANA- The Russian Defense Ministry on Thursday denied allegations about shooting down a Russian fighter jet in Raqqa by ISIS terrorists.

RT Russian website quoted Igor Konashenkov, spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry as saying in a statement that the alleged information about shooting a Russian fighter in Raqqa city is groundless.

“The information disseminated by a Qatari channel about shooting down an aircraft of the Russian Air force in al-Raqqa is mere media provocation”, Konashenkov added, explaining that the Russian air force had not had any activity in the mentioned area.
