Ministry of Endowments adopts Muslim World League timing

Damascus, SANA-Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) has announced the adoption of the Muslim World League timing to determine the times of prayer, fasting, and breaking the fast, emphasizing commitment to providing the best means to ensure that Muslims perform their worship at precise times.

In statements carried by the ministry’s channel on Telegram, ministry spokesperson Ahmad al-Hallaq said: “We adopted the Muslim World League timing after a series of meticulous and professional steps conducted in several stages to ensure accurate scientific documentation.

He added “We also consulted with many relevant specialized entities, including the First Sharia Judge, and communicated with astronomical specialists to conduct astronomical calculations. We then reviewed the calendar printing presses to ensure the accuracy of the published dates, and the process also included conducting multiple direct observations from different locations.”

Al-Hallaq added: “The timing represents the scientific and legal basis for determining the times of prayer, fasting, and breaking the fast. To ensure the accuracy of these timings and to avoid any discrepancies that might affect the validity of worship, we carefully evaluated various options. After an in-depth study of all the data, it was found that the World Muslim League timing is the most accurate and reliable.”

Al-Hallaq affirmed the ministry’s full commitment to providing the best means to ensure that Muslims perform their worship at precise times in accordance with Islamic law, expressing readiness to respond to any inquiries or questions in this regard.
