Damascus, March 31 (SANA) – Syrian Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Kabawat met women elected to the People’s Assembly and representatives of local civil society organizations to discuss challenges facing Syrian women and ways to strengthen empowerment programs and related legislation.
During the meeting, held Tuesday at the ministry’s headquarters in Damascus, participants discussed issues affecting women in Syria, including violence, employment opportunities and nationality rights for children.

Participants stressed the importance of updating laws and legislation related to Syrian women to safeguard their rights and strengthen their economic, social and political participation in society.
Earlier this month, the ministry launched its 2026–2028 strategic plan, aimed at ensuring fair and effective access to social protection systems, promoting women’s empowerment, strengthening their economic and social participation and protecting them from violence and discrimination.
