U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s plane was forced to make an emergency landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday due to a crack in the cockpit windscreen.
According to a statement posted by the Pentagon on X (formerly Twitter), the aircraft was en route to the United States after Hegseth attended a NATO Defense Ministers meeting in Belgium when the incident occurred.
“The plane landed following standard procedures, and everyone onboard – including Secretary Hegseth -is safe,” the government said.
