Britain reiterates commitment to supporting justice in Syria

London, SANA-The United Kingdom reiterated, Wednesday, its unwavering commitment to supporting justice and boosting the rule of law in Syria as part of its ongoing efforts to support stability and institutional reform in the country.

The British Foreign Office announced, via an official post on the X platform, that The UK envoy to Syria, Ms. Ann Snow held a meeting in Damascus with Syrian Justice Minister Dr. Mazhar Alwis.

The two sides discussed ways to boost judicial reform and develop justice mechanisms to serve the interests of all Syrians.

“The United Kingdom will remain committed to supporting justice and the rule of law in Syria, based on its belief that justice is a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable peace and comprehensive development “The ministry affirmed.

This step comes in the context of growing international support for the political and legal reform process in Syria. Britain previously welcomed the formation of the Supreme Elections Committee and called for ensuring transparency and justice for victims during the transitional period.
