Damascus, June 6 (SANA) A three-day conference on obstetrics and gynecology concluded in Damascus on Saturday, bringing together more than 35 specialists and researchers from Syria, Arab countries and Europe to discuss advances in women’s health and reproductive medicine.
The conference, jointly organized by the Federation of Arab Societies of Obstetrics and Gynecology (FAGOS) and the Syrian-European Group of Oncology in Gynecology (SEGOC), featured scientific sessions on gynecological oncology, fetal medicine, assisted reproduction, high-risk pregnancy, minimally invasive surgery and emerging medical technologies.
The final day included presentations by experts from the United Kingdom, France, Egypt and Jordan on developments in gynecological surgery, pelvic floor disorders, endometriosis treatment, uterine fibroid prevention and robotic surgical training.
Held under the patronage of Syria’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the event aimed to promote the exchange of medical expertise and highlight recent developments in women’s healthcare.
Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister Marwan al-Halabi said the conference reflected growing scientific cooperation between Syrian, Arab and international medical institutions and underscored the importance of supporting specialized research and medical education.
Organizers said the conference provided a platform for physicians and researchers to discuss advances in diagnosis, treatment and surgical techniques in the field of obstetrics and gynecology.
