Syria participates in the 44th Meeting of the Arab Customs Union Committee in Cairo

Cairo, SANA – A delegation from the Syrian General Authority for Land and Sea Ports, headed by Mazen Alloush, Director of Local and International Relations, participated in the 44th meeting of the Arab Customs Union Committee, held on Wednesday, at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo.

The customs delegations from various member states discussed a number of issues related to enhancing Arab customs cooperation, mechanisms for unifying procedures and technical standards, and facilitating trade exchange among Arab countries, in a manner that contributes to achieving the objectives of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area (GAFTA).

The participation of the General Authority for Land and Sea Ports in this meeting comes as a confirmation of Syria’s commitment to strengthening joint Arab action in the customs field, keeping pace with legislative and procedural developments that would facilitate the movement of trade, and supporting the paths of economic integration among Arab countries.
