Syrian-French cooperation to reconstruct damaged bridges

Damascus, SANA- Transport Minister Yarub Badr discussed Sunday with Philippe Matière head of French company “Matière” prospects of cooperation in rebuilding and repairing roads and bridges across Syria.

During the meeting the two sides reviewed “the 2023 inclusive agreement to rehabilitate 32 bridges nationwide” within the new priorities of the transport ministry.

Minister Badr stressed during the meeting the importance of strengthening cooperation with experienced international companies, particularly during the reconstruction phase.

He highlighted the need to apply the latest technologies in transportation projects to ensure efficiency, quality, and accelerated implementation.

For its part, Matière expressed his company’s readiness to provide technical expertise in bridge rehabilitation and construction and the need to establish preliminary timelines and detailed studies to ensure quick start.
