Pedersen welcomes EU announcement to lift economic sanctions on Syria

New York, SANA- Geir Pedersen, the UN Special Envoy for Syria, has welcomed the European Union’s announcement to lift economic sanctions on Syria in key sectors such as energy and banking.

In a post on (X), Pedersen expressed his appreciation for the EU’s swift action in line with previous steps, emphasizing the importance of the decision taken by the Union in supporting the Syrian people in their pursuit of building an inclusive, peaceful, and just future.
