Beijing, Feb. 24 (SANA) – China’s leading drone manufacturer DJI has filed a lawsuit challenging a decision by the US Federal Communications Commission to restrict foreign-made drones from the US market.
The company said the FCC’s late-2025 decision to place foreign-manufactured drones on its so-called “Covered List” suffers from serious procedural and substantive flaws, arguing that no objective evidence was presented to support claims that its products pose a national security threat.
DJI said the lawsuit seeks to defend its legal rights and protect affected US consumers, including users in the agricultural sector, noting that the import ban has already triggered stockpiling in the US market.
Placement on the FCC’s Covered List effectively bars affected products from receiving regulatory authorization, resulting in a de facto ban on their import and sale in the United States.
