Damascus, Jan. 25 (SANA) Syrian Health Minister Musab al-Ali met with Turkish Ambassador to Damascus Nuh Yilmaz on Sunday to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in the health sector.
The officials discussed a comprehensive memorandum of understanding covering all health fields and the supply of advanced medical equipment to Syrian hospitals, including MRI machines.
Al-Ali emphasized the importance of continued coordination to operate the Heart Hospital in Dummar and the Aleppo Cancer Hospital, ensuring both facilities receive the necessary medical devices and supplies.
He also noted ongoing challenges, including difficulties working with some international companies due to sanctions and delays in restoring Aleppo Hospital, and expressed appreciation for Türkiye’s role in facilitating the delivery of medical and relief shipments to areas in need.

He said Turkey would continue providing urgently needed equipment until the Heart Hospital opens and stressed efforts to ease procedures for previously secured medical shipments to northern regions. He also confirmed Turkey’s readiness to respond to additional requests to support Syria’s healthcare system.
Al-Ali and his Turkish counterpart signed a cooperation agreement during an official visit to Turkey on June 20, 2025, aimed at developing Syria’s health sector across multiple areas, including hospital management, medical training, and equipment provision.
