Rome, SANA-Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni expressed her country’s support for efforts to boost Syria’s economic recovery and reconstruction.
“We believe it is essential to support the recovery of the Syrian economy, as well as to ensure voluntary, safe, dignified and sustainable return of Syrians refugees to their homes,” Meloni said during a joint press conference with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan after their talks in Rome, the Italian news agency AKI reported.
Meloni added that they agreed on the need to ensure a democratic transition in Syria that includes all segments of Syrian society.
She noted that they exchanged views on the increasingly tragic situation in the Middle East, particularly in the Gaza Strip.
