Lebanese President congratulates President al-Sharaa on assuming presidency of Syria

Lebanese President congratulates President al-Sharaa on assuming presidency of Syria

Damascus, SANA- President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Ahmad al-Sharaa received on Friday a telephone call from his Lebanese counterpart, Joseph Aoun.

President Aoun congratulated President Al-Sharaa on assuming the presidency of the Syrian Arab Republic, affirming necessity for enhancing cooperation and diplomatic relations between the two brotherly countries to achieve security and peace for the Syrian and Lebanese peoples.

He also stressed Lebanon’s support for the unity, independence and national sovereignty of Syria.

President Al-Sharaa, for his part, hailed the historical and geographical ties that bind the two countries, referring to the common and brilliant history of the countries of Syria and Lebanon.
