Daraa, Oct. 22 (SANA) A civilian with a disability was killed by Israeli occupation forces on Thursday during an incursion into Jamla village in western Daraa countryside, with his body transferred to Daraa National Hospital, SANA reported.
SANA’s reporter in Daraa said the Israeli forces deployed in the village’s eastern neighborhood and positioned snipers on the rooftops of residential buildings as they continued their movements in the area.
On Wednesday evening, Israeli forces shelled the outskirts of Abidin town in the Yarmouk Basin area of western Daraa countryside. Two artillery shells landed west of the town, with no reports of casualties or material damage.
Israeli forces continue to violate the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through repeated incursions into southern Syria, raids on civilian homes, arrests, land bulldozing and shelling.
Syria calls for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from its territory, maintains that their measures are null and void under international law, and urges the international community to assume its responsibilities by pressing Israel to comply with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions. Damascus says such action would help prevent further regional tensions and create conditions for lasting security and stability.
