Homs, Feb.05 (SANA) Nine civilians were injured on Thursday evening when unknown assailants opened fire on a game hall in Ain al-Khadraa village, part of the Talkalakh area in the western Homs countryside.
The head of the Talkalakh Police Department, Mohsen Ali al-Ma’mou, told SANA reporter that police patrols moved immediately to the scene after receiving a report of gunfire at the game hall. A security cordon was imposed around the site, and criminal investigation units and criminal security investigators were dispatched.
Al-Ma’mou said initial investigation showed that the attack occurred at around 8:00 p.m. and was carried out by direct gunfire from two motorcycles carrying four masked individuals, who fled the area after the attack.
He added that the shooting resulted in injuries to nine residents of Ain al-Khadraa village, including two people in critical condition. The remaining injuries ranged from moderate to minor and were mostl to the limbs.
Statements were taken from the injured in accordance with legal procedures.
The police chief said investigative measures included collecting evidence from the scene, taking witness statements, and reviewing surveillance camera recordings in the area, stressing that the competent authorities are continuing their work to uncover the circumstances of the incident and bring those involved to justice.
