Damascus, Feb. 16 (SANA) In the presence of President Ahmad al-Sharaa, the Ministry of Endowments on Monday unveiled a charter titled “Unity of Islamic Discourse” as a national framework aimed at religious scholars and preachers from across the country to promote a unified approach to key religious issues.
The announcement was made during the second day of the ministry’s conference in Damascus.
Minister of Endowments Mohammad Abu al-Khair Shukri said the initiative seeks to “strengthen a moderate and inclusive religious discourse.” He said the ministry has outlined strategic plans to ensure that mosques serve as centers for moral guidance, where younger generations can learn the values of moderation, balance and ethical conduct.
“We seek to fulfill our mission through an inclusive, moderate discourse that fosters harmony and mutual respect and distances itself from incitement and sectarian division,” Shukri said.
He added that such an approach would reinforce coexistence and civil peace while safeguarding the rights of all citizens and promoting justice within society.
The minister said the charter represents a national commitment to greater coordination and institutional cooperation among religious figures, moving beyond divisions toward unified religious messaging.
