Amman, Sept. 4 (SANA) A delegation from Syrian Interior Ministry, comprising representatives from the drug enforcement and international cooperation departments, paid an official visit on Friday to the headquarters of the Arab Bureau for Drug and Crime Affairs in Amman, as part of efforts to strengthen regional security partnerships and activate joint cooperation mechanisms under the Council of Arab Interior Ministers.
During a field tour at the Jordanian Public Security Directorate, the delegation reviewed best operational practices and modern technologies adopted by the command-and-control center, the Arab and International Police Department, and the Anti-Narcotics Department, according to a ministry statement on Telegram.
The visit is part of the ministry’s strategy to develop field and information coordination with member states and exchange specialized expertise to enhance response efficiency and develop mechanisms to counter drug smuggling networks and transnational organized crime.

In June 2026, a Syrian delegation held a bilateral meeting with UNODC officials in Vienna on the sidelines of the 35th session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice to discuss strengthening cooperation in criminal justice, organized crime and corruption.
