Damascus, July 5 (SANA) Head of the Higher Committee for People’s Assembly Elections Mohammad Taha al-Ahmad has issued a decision postponing the inaugural session of Syria’s People’s Assembly until a date to be announced later.
The inaugural session had been scheduled to mark the beginning of the new legislative term for the People’s Assembly.
On Wednesday, July 1, al-Ahmad announced the names of the members of the new People’s Assembly, including those elected by voters and those appointed by the President of the Republic in accordance with his constitutional powers. also called for the first session of the People’s Assembly to convene on Monday, July 6, 2026.
