Deir Ezzor, June 13 (SANA) The Ministry of Energy announced on Saturday that 11 additional water stations had been returned to service after equipment removed as a precaution against flooding from rising Euphrates River water levels earlier this month was reinstalled.
The ministry said in a statement posted on its Telegram channel that technical and engineering teams from the General Company for Drinking Water and Sanitation restored six stations in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor and five others in the eastern countryside.
The ministry added that technical teams continue working to secure water facilities and restore all remaining stations as soon as conditions allow.
Water levels in the Euphrates rose sharply in late May and early June after increased inflows from Türkiye following heavy rainfall, prompting authorities to open spillway gates at the dam for the first time in decades to protect operational safety.
The flooding affected areas along the riverbanks in Raqqa and Deir Ezzor provinces, inundating agricultural land, water pumping stations and local infrastructure.
On June 9, the ministry announced that technical teams had returned three additional drinking water stations to full operation after reinstalling equipment following improved conditions.
