Damascus, June 13 (SANA) A 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck northwest of Aleppo shortly after midnight on Saturday, sending tremors across several areas in northern Syria.
The National Earthquake Center at the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management said its monitoring stations recorded the quake at 12:10 a.m. on June 13. The epicenter was located 86 kilometers northwest of Aleppo at a depth of 7.5 kilometers.
The center described the earthquake as a moderate seismic event associated with the East Anatolian Fault system, a major fault line extending across southern Türkiye and the surrounding region.
Türkiye’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) reported that the quake was centered in the Nurdağı district of Gaziantep province. Tremors were also felt in the provinces of Gaziantep, Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Osmaniye and Hatay.
