Interior Ministry: Initial probe implicates Amjad Youssef in al-Abbasi case
Interior Ministry announces findings in al-Abbasi children case - SANA

Damascus, May 30 (SANA) The Ministry of Interior announced on Saturday that ongoing investigations into the disappearance of the children of Dr. Rania al-Abbasi had led to information and evidence indicating that the children were killed by groups and militias affiliated with the ousted regime.

The ministry said that investigations conducted with a number of detainees produced information and evidence related to the case, adding that the National Commission for Missing Persons had shared video footage and additional information with the ministry that contributed to supporting the course of the investigation and strengthening the available evidence.

According to the ministry, preliminary investigations showed the direct involvement of Amjad Youssef, the perpetrator of al-Tadamon massacre in the crime, while the competent authorities continue efforts to complete the investigations, collect evidence and pursue other potential suspects in preparation for taking the necessary legal measures against them.

The ministry affirmed that the public would be informed of any new developments or findings once the ongoing investigations and procedures are completed, in a manner that ensures the full truth is revealed and justice is achieved for the victims and their families.

Earlier on Saturday, the National Commission for the Missing Persons announced it had reached reliable and corroborated conclusions indicating, with a high degree of professional certainty, the death of the six children of Dr. Rania al-Abbasi.
