Ankara, Oct. 5 (SANA) Head of the Communications Directorate of the Turkish Presidency, Burhanettin Duran, demanded Monday that Israel cease its violations of Syrian territory and immediately withdraw from occupied areas.
In a post on Turkish social media platform Nsosyal, Duran stated that Israel’s resumption of activities along the so-called “Sufa 53 Line” in Syria’s Quneitra Province constitutes a new violation that explicitly disregards international law and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, Anadolu Agency reported.
Duran stressed that Israeli actions that escalate regional tension and expand occupation are unacceptable, calling on international bodies to take concrete measures to protect regional stability and international law.
Duran reaffirmed that Türkiye, under leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, will continue to defend Syria’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.
The Turkish reaction follows statements by Syria, Qatar, Jordan, Kuwait, and Egypt condemning the ongoing Israeli occupation construction of the so-called “Sufa 53 Line” and demanding full compliance with the 1974 agreement.
